Membership

If you are new to the area or have been worshipping with us and are moved to join the family of God here, the best way to get started is by speaking with Pastor Craig.  From there, any number of options will be considered depending on your faith life and instruction to this point.

Membership is your public confession of your personal faith.  By submitting to the yoke of membership, you agree to what the congregation believes, teaches, and does locally as well as with the greater church affiliation it has.  Bethlehem is a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

  • For those without a Lutheran background, adult or family instruction may be a way to get started to understand the core teachings of the church, being Lutheran, etc.  (See the "Our Beliefs" tab for what we believe, teach, and confess.)

  • If you are a member of an another Lutheran (ELCA, WELS, etc.) congregation, you already have a grasp of many of the core teachings of the Lutheran Church.  Request a visit with Pastor Augustine to discuss a transfer and the main differences in our teachings so that you are clear on our public confession of the Christian faith.
  • If you are a member of another LCMS congregation, Pastor Craig can facilitate a transfer on your behalf.

A note for current Bethlehem members, if you move to a new location, you are encouraged to seek out a church home where you are now located.  You can search for nearby churches using the locator service found at locator.lcms.org.  Kindly let us know so that we know you are receiving God's gifts and pastoral care where you are now at.
